Book 'Cape Cod, Cabo de Palos. In the footsteps of Hopper'
This book, published in 1997 for the exhibition of the same name, includes the work that links two painted territories: the center of which is Cabo de Palos (usually reflected by Charris and Sicre) and Cape Cod, one of the iconographic sources of the great Edward Hopper.
In 1995, Charris and Sicre embarked on a journey towards the heart of the imagination, in a similar way and in the opposite direction to that which led the young Hopper to the cradle of his venerated European culture, Paris. The line drawn between the coasts of the Spanish Levant and those of New England is full of mirages and contradictions, of suggestions, of admiration and traditions, and in it the Hopperian references are entangled with others of the European and American figurative tradition.
